NEVADA MOUNTAIN BIKE PATROLS In 2002, the formation of two new National Mountain Bike Patrols became a reality in Nevada. This makes for a total of three in the state, the first, HOT ROCKS, being based in the Las Vegas area of southern Nevada. The famous Flume trail and the recently constructed Tahoe Rim Trail section thru Spooner Lake State Park now also has a NMBPatrol. These patrols cover the world reknown Tahoe Flume and Tahoe Rim Trail sections in Spooner Sate Park. Mountain bike patrols work in cooperation with land managers to meet the specific needs of their local riding area. Patrollers provide assistance to hikers, equestrians, and especially mountain bikers. They give information, provide directions, help with minor repairs, and provide first aid. Enforcement is not a function of mountain bike patrols.
