Evans Canyon Trail Work

The Truckee Meadows Trail Association recently received a grant to improve and help restore the riparian habitat in Evans Canyon. After last weekends IMBA trail building school which used some of Evans Canyon, the TMTA has hired Joey Klein, one of IMBA's trail specialists to continue work in the canyon and to come up with a comprehensive trail plan for Evans and Keystone Canyons, and Rancho San Rafael Park.

Joey will be working in Evans Canyon thru Wednesday (February 26) on a number of small projects. He welcomes you to come on by to lend a hand, or to give your input. He will be in the canyon from 9 am till sundown, so at least ride on by and say hi if you can.

It should be interesting to see the plan he comes up with, addressing the many issues, from downhill and cross country trails to protecting the sensitive riparian areas. Joey is planning to return in the fall to complete the Evans Canyon project.
