NEVADA WILDERNESS AND MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL POTENTIAL

In the California the mountain bikes vs. wilderness campaign has become very heated. It is my hope in Nevada that we can avoid this animosity by keeping all parties involved and informed. I personally believe that there are places we should just leave alone, but on the other hand, everything shouldn't be off limits.

Here in Nevada we have a chance to set away some pristine areas but at the same time have a chance to ask for a comprehensive recreational plan when these areas are up for consideration. The recreational tourism potential for mountain biking has barely been tapped and this type of tourism is going to very significant to the smaller, rural towns in Nevada. These towns will need quality trails and trail networks to attract visitors and they will need both public and private lands to do this.
