Race Venues
§ Hidden Valley:
§ Course will be different both times. A classic “cross” course with all the elements. A lot of ribbon, a little grass, sand and fast pavement, (except for moisture, that’s going to take a lot of praying to the cross gods). East McCarren Blvd. to Pembroke—right on Parkway Dr.— to Hidden Valley Park [map].
§ Northstar at Tahoe Ski Area:
§ A new venue that we’re excited about. The course is no where near being finalized, but you can expect loamy bark, single track, and a “Pave” section through the new village. From downtown Reno take I-80 West to 267 (Lake Tahoe Exit)—Head South on 367 approx. 5 miles to Northstar turnoff on the right—follow road approx. 2 miles to village. From Mt. Rose Hwy. head to Kings Beach—take 267 towards Truckee approx. 8mi. Northstar turnoff will be on the left.
§ Genoa:
§ This is a not to be missed event. This will be one of the most demanding courses you will race on. The local residents of Genoa really help out to make it a memorable good time. They even created a man made mud pit last year. A word to the wise, run your slime tubes. Hosted by Alta Alpina Cycling Club: From Reno take 395 South through and past Carson City approx. 14 miles—turn right on Genoa Lane. [map]
