I'm excited to introduce you all to a project I'm really passionate about. Since moving to California, I've fallen in love with the Sierra Nevada and am now a part time resident on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. I'm convinced it's the world's best location for high elevation riding and mountain lifestyle. With that in mind, I wanted to share my love of the region, of cycling, and blend it with a cause I'm passionate about. I approached my friends at Bike Monkey, and over a few rides and a few beers, Stetina's Sierra Prospect was born.

Through my Dad's crash and subsequent Traumatic Brain Injury, I know first hand how a life altering injury can devour a family. I also know how grueling rehabilitation can be through my own broken leg. I want this ride to be about more than just sport. To that end, I'm happy to announce that Stetina's Sierra Prospect will benefit the High Fives Foundation. I wish our family had known about them a few years earlier!

I've done all my training for races like the Tour de France and Amgen Tour of California on these same roads. We've hand selected a route that will give you a legendary Prospect. We’ll skirt Lake Tahoe’s crystal waters, bake in Nevada’s scorched desert, and tackle the Sierra’s toughest grades. Meanwhile, Bike Monkey is rolling out their Road Rally format. I believe this combination might just help you in your search for cycling's true gold.

Changing the game.

Stetina's Sierra Prospect will be scored with Bike Monkey's new "Road Rally" format, the perfect mix of competition and camaraderie. There are 5 timed segments, some flat, some hilly; this is your moment to throw down and show what you’re made of. Outside of the segments there is no penalty to refuel at aid stations, relax, snap pictures, and be social.

Just like Pro racing, you can play to your strengths. The Overall Classification is all segments combined. Is gravity your foe? Go for the Sprinter segments. The King of Brockway Classification is available to Express riders only. Or just go all in on one segment, live in the moment, don't think about what's to come, try and snag the fast time against your fellow Prospectors.
