This week is the Twilight Stage Race. It will consist of a TT, a Road Race, and a Criterium over a 3 day period beginning tomorrow. Points are awarded based upon your finish in your respective category and the overall winner in each category is awarded a free pass for racing next year. You do not have to race all 3 events if you just want to participate in one or two but you cannot win the overall without doing all 3. Points are awarded on the same schedule as the twilight points series. Individual events will get awards for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place of 3, 2, and 1 free entries each. In addition, the Time Trial is the Reno Wheelmen 1 Day championship for the TT. The winner in each category gets a free pass at all Twilight Season TT’s next year (District TT doesn’t count as a twilight). You will have to purchase a ticket for each event in the stage race.
Tomorrows event is the Franktown TT. Registration will open at approx 5:30 and the first rider will start at approx 6:20. I need a few volunteers for this event. I will need someone to start the riders and as I would also like to ride the TT (I will start about 5 minutes before the first rider) I would like to get someone to be able to go by the finish and get my time, once I am done I will finish up the timing at the finish line. Please let me know if you can volunteer.
Registration and the start will be at the Bowers mansion parking area. The park is open late enough so you will be able to park inside. Please do not park on the Southbound side of the road within the first 75 yards or so from the gate as that is my registration/start/staging area for the participants.
Look forward to seeing you all at the race.

Here are a couple of rules that will be strictly enforced. Failure to follow these rules will result in disqualification.
- You are required to obey all traffic signs. That includes the stop sign when you come off Franktown Road back onto old 395. Last year we had several individuals rolling through that stop and it caused us some issues with the local homeowners association. It is only a few seconds so take the time to stop. This is a quality course and we don’t need the hassle of having the association fighting us everytime we want to use this course.
- Do not come back to the finish line to check your time. If you absolutely need to know you can wait until I get back to the registration area or you can set your timer on your cyclometer when you start the event. The finish area is too narrow for cyclists to be sitting on the other side of the road waiting for finishers to come in. Vehicles coming from that direction end up slowing down and crossing over the center line into the lane of the participants as they are finishing in order to avoid the people on the shoulder. I don’t need one of you causing someone else to become a hood ornament.
Please stay as far to the right as possible except when passing another rider or avoiding debris on the road.
